Professional hockey player Reggie Millette suspended indefinitely for attacking fans with his stick
Reggie Millette, a professional hockey player was just suspended indefinitely for attacking some fans with his hockey stick.
Sports can be intense, and sometimes that leads to tempers flaring, as seen in a recent SPHL game when a player allegedly went after a fan.
Though hockey has become a bit less intense over the years, it's still one of the more aggressive sports out there, requiring players to be tough. While some players make it to higher leagues like the NHL or AHL, others fall short, which can lead to frustration.
This frustration may have played a role in an incident involving Fayetteville Marksmen player Reggie Millette, who, according to the team's social media, was indefinitely suspended after allegedly attempting to go into the stands with his stick to confront a fan.
"The Fayetteville Marksmen have been made aware of the actions of forward Reggie Millette following this weekend's game in Macon.
The Marksmen do not condone these actions and remain committed to promoting fun, family-friendly entertainment through hockey, both at home and on the road.
Millette has been suspended indefinitely for conduct detrimental to the team."
Fans were quick to react, calling on the league to step in. So far, only the team has announced Millette's suspension, but it's likely the league was also involved in the decision.
Currently, no footage of the incident is available, but given the potential dangers of a player wielding a stick, the Marksmen took decisive action. Such incidents simply can't be tolerated, especially when fans are involved.
Do you think suspending Reggie Millette indefinitely was the right move or was it too harsh?
