The Athletic recently conducted a fan poll to determine which teams fans had the lowest confidence in their team. The poll was administered by writer Sean Gentille, in which 10,000 fans participated.

As per Gentille:
''The methodology is simple as ever, and it will stay as such. That is the Hope-O-Meter promise. One question: Are you optimistic about your team or are you not?''

According to the results, Philadelphia Flyers fans have the lowest amount of confidence in their team and management.

In the results, 98.3% of Flyers fans have no hope or faith in the team. With the comments made this week by John Tortorella, it's easy to see why this could go south quickly. Torts already claimed this week that his players have the ''attention span of an amoeba'' and need to be ''spoon-fed'' information.
Apparently, Boston Bruins fans don't have much more confidence in their team either, as the B's rank 24th with 69.2 points, 6.5 less than last season.
As per Gentille:
''Optimist Adam: Though I have little optimism beyond this season due to the Bruins' near-complete inability to draft and develop young talent during the Sweeney-Neely regime, this year feels like the last hurrah for a special group of guys. I truly believe that the Bruins will empty the tank and make a good run this year. They probably don't have the forward depth to get past the second round, but nothing they achieve this year will be surprising.''

''Pessimist Brendan: The team has an obvious cliff that they are heading towards, yet they seem to have done nothing to turn away from it. The season is totally based on hope for best case scenarios. I hope they can weather the first couple of months until everyone is healthy. I hope David Krejci can be some semblance of his past self. I hope Patrice Bergeron can have one more season where he stays healthy and ageless. That feels like too many things to be hoping for, for them to ask to work out.''
