The Chicago Blackhawks are officially in full rebuild mode, with the most significant pieces remaining being Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane and Seth Jones.

Now, the club is trying to reverse one of the worst trades in recent years:

Blackhawks receive:
Seth Jones
2021 1st round pick (32nd Overall - Nolan Allen)
2022 6th round pick

Columbus Blue Jackets receive:
Adam Boqvist
2021 1st round pick (12th Overall - Cole Sillinger)
2021 2nd round pick (44th Overall - Aleksi Heimosalmi)
2022 1st round pick (6th Overall - David Jiricek)

The 2022 first-round pick, David Jiricek, is a solid defensive prospect with tremendous upside, and Cole Sillinger and Adam Boqvist are already proven NHL players.

According to reports by The Athletic's Scott Powers, Chicago is now trying to trade Jones, but there's one thing scaring teams away.

Jones is currently signed for eight years, at $9.5 million AAV, and also has a no-movement clause.

For the Blackhawks to move Jones, GM Kyle Davidson may have to look to package him with a prospect or, at the very least, retain his salary.

It was reported that at the NHL Draft, the Blackhawks offered the defenseman to the Ottawa Senators for next to nothing, and GM Pierre Dorion ultimately declined.
