It was first reported San Jose Sharks GM Mike Grier shared that he's willing to listen to offers on Erik Karlsson.
Things have quickly heated up as rumours flew on where the veteran defenseman will end up this season. During a recent episode of 32 Thoughts, Elliotte Friedman stated that Karlsson could be returning to the Atlantic Division.
''It is an extremely difficult puzzle to piece together, but I do think Florida would have interest in Erik Karlsson. Not sure how it could happen, though.''
The rumours are that Florida could offer $10 million backup goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky the other way to make the cap work, as Karlsson currently carries an $11.5 million cap hit.
The Toronto Maple Leafs, down three defensemen, have also been linked to Karlsson and a possible reunion with the Ottawa Senators.
Karlsson, 32, has returned to his Norris-winning ways and, in 26 games, has recorded 11 goals and 21 assists.
