This summer, the Flames and Panthers pulled off the biggest blockbuster in recent memory when Matthew Tkachuk was sent to Florida in exchange for MacKenzie Weegar and Jonathan Huberdeau.

Calgary and GM Brad Treliving looked like the early winners of the deal, as they were also able to sign both Huberdeau and Weegar to eight-year extensions shortly after. Unfortunately, it appears as though the winds have shifted and management is concerned with the ''mess'' this season.

According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period , the Flames could potentially be looking to move one of the big Tkachuk returns.

''I have strong reason to believe the Flames have considered moving defenceman Mackenzie Weegar. They've denied it, and it doesn't sound like a trade is presently imminent. But multiple well-placed league sources have not only heard Weegar's name floating around but have informed me the Ottawa Senators are a team that has expressed interest in acquiring him.''

This is one move that most likely won't happen but Calgary has had an inconsistent season. They currently sit outside the Western Conference playoff picture with a 25-18-11 record through 54 games.

However, the Flames have called the Coyotes about Jakob Chyrchrun so Weegar could be a name moved out to make room.

Let's hope for a busy/crazy NHL Trade Deadline Day!
