The thought has always been that once Tuukka Rask is recovered form his offseason surgery, he'd return to the Boston Bruins after December.
However that doesn't seem so guaranteed anymore.
While Rask's preference is of course to re-join the Bruins and help them for a playoff run, he's becoming open to the taking advantage of opportunity somewhere else.
According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, it's not necessarily "Bruins or bust" for Rask.
In fact his name is becoming heavily connected to the Edmonton Oilers.
Rask is working hard right now not only preparing for an NHL return, but also being available for Team Finland at the Olympics if he's called upon.
While still early, the Bruins are just one point out of a Wild Card spot.
Rask has spent his whole career with the Bruins and has registered a 2.27 goals against average and .921 save percentage over 14 seasons.
