A recent report suggested that unrestricted free agent forward Curtis Lazar will not be resigning with the Boston Bruins for the upcoming 2022-23 NHL season.
Lazar had 8 goals and 8 assists in 70 games with the Bruins this season as a solid fourth-line role player. In the seven playoff games, he had just one goal.
He came to Boston at the 2021 deadline deal that brought Taylor Hall to the Bruins.
Lazar is a former first-round pick (17th overall) by the Ottawa Senators at the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. A stellar junior career projected him as a top-six forward, which did not pan out. However, his contributions as a depth forward in the NHL should not go unnoticed.
