Game three between the Tampa Bay Lightning and New York Rangers may have cost the Rangers more than just a game in the series. Forward Ryan Strome took what looked like a very light cross-check before awkwardly turning and immediately retreating to the locker room.
Watch it here:
Not much of a shove from Lightning forward Andrei Palat, but it bothered Strome as he appeared in a lot of discomfort, and it was announced as a "lower-body injury."
The Rangers forward came back for one shift but directly left for the locker room after and didn't return. He finished the game with 7:22 of ice-time and had two shots on goal.
Strome has been doing well this year in the playoffs, with two goals and seven assists in 16 games played. The Rangers could be without their 2nd line centre for an undetermined amount of time.
After the game, Gerard Gallant shared that there was no update on Strome's condition or availability at the time, which is usually not a positive sign.
