2022 fourth-overall pick Shane Wright of the Seattle Kraken has been a healthy scratch for 11 of the team's 18 games this season.
The formerly projected number-one overall pick has recorded just one assist in his seven games. After being healthy scratched for the fifth consecutive game Saturday night, the Kraken were now eligible to send Wright down to the AHL.
NHL insider Frank Seravalli shared Seattle's announcement on Wright:
''#SeaKraken announce they've assigned Shane Wright to AHL Coachella Valley on a conditioning stint. He can stay there for a maximum of 14 days.''
If Wright isn't playing, it's odd that the Kraken don't send the 18-year-old back down to the Kingston Frontenacs of the OHL. Let him dominate in junior and regain some confidence he's surely lost by this point.
