Shesterkin gets away with one of the most embarrassing embellishments

New York Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin gave us his best acting performance in game three against the Tampa Bay Lightning last night.

Corey Perry is the most innocent player in the NHL, as he's earned his reputation for playing on the edge and frequently crossing it. During the second period last night, Perry's antics got him into a little trouble.

Goalies around the NHL are slowly growing reputations for embellishing, and Shesterkin has had his fair share already in these playoffs.

This was the incident in last nights game:

There is no question that Perry's stick makes contact with Shesterkin's head, but the netminder goes down like he swung for the fences.

Perry was given a two minute minor for goaltender interference on the play and the Rangers went on to score on the powerplay to make it 2-0 in the first.

Whether it's a case of referees protecting goalies too much or players getting away with too much that the goalies feel they have to embellish. Either way it's not a good look for Igor Shesterkin on this play.
