It was reported that the Chicago Blackhawks are heavily shopping their entire roster except for three untouchables.

Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane and Seth Jones (seems weird).

The Boston Bruins are in need of one or two centres that can play in the top-six, and the Blackhawks may have the perfect young forward who could fit the description.

Dylan Strome is a former high draft selection, as he was drafted third overall by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. The 25-year-old is now an RFA, and the Blackhawks may choose not to qualify him. Even if they do, any player but the three mentioned earlier are available via trade.

Strome had 22 goals and 26 assists in 69 games last year on a weak Chicago team, and he's slowly progressed with around at least 40 points in three of his previous four seasons. His career-high was back in 2018-19, when he had 17 goals and 34 assists in just 58 games.

Judging by his advanced stats, Strome excels in the defensive part of the game as a forward and passing to set up plays and break out or into the zone. His finishing percentage (goals on chances) is also in the 93rd percentile of the entire NHL.

With a qualifying offer of only $3.5 million, should the Bruins target Dylan Strome?
