26-year-old Sonny Milano has finally found a new home for the 2022-23 NHL season.
Milano somewhat broke out last season while on a line with Trevor Zegras for the Anaheim Ducks. The 2014 first-round pick appeared in 66 games with the Ducks and registered 14 goals and 20 assists.
After the Ducks surprisingly didn't qualify the restricted free agent, he was now a UFA and free to sign anywhere. Apparently, there weren't many suitors, as the forward was forced to sign a PTO with the Calgary Flames, which was unsuccessful.
However, during the intermission show on Sportsnet last night, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman announced Milano has signed with an Eastern Conference team. He also tweeted the following:
''Hearing Sonny Milano will be signing with WASH. He does need to clear waiversso he can start in AHL Hershey. Sounds like a one-year, one-way deal''
Friedman also announced that the value of the deal is $750,000.
