Every once and a while, a random NHL player showcases a crazy talent that fans didn't know they had.
The most recent was a youngster from the New York Rangers who showed off how hard he can shoot the puck.
During his off season training, forward Kaapo Kakko would show off that he's been working on his shot.
Kakko launches a blistering slap shot, that was recorded at 172 kilometres per hour.
Watch the video below to see his shot:
Albeit, Kakko gets a decent run up to the shot, but it is still very hard.
That calculates to nearly 107 miles per hour, which is around the same shot power as Shea Weber, and very close to the hardest shot of all time.
Former Boston Bruins' captain Zdeno Chara clocked in with the highest ever at 108.8 miles per hour.
Kakko was the second overall pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
