Now that the Boston Bruins season is over and the lockers have been cleared out, the offseason has begun for general manager Don Sweeney and his management team.
The Bruins have a handful of players who will hit free agency on July 1st which includes Rick Nash, Riley Nash, Tim Schaller, Tommy Wingels, Brian Gionta, Nick Holden and Anton Khudobin.
Ideally, Sweeney would like to bring back everybody, but it's just not possible.
"Haven't definitively ruled anybody out... We would like to bring everyone back, but that's not realistic in cap environment," he said.
While the group of UFA's likely won't be back, there's one that Sweeney would like to focus on and that is goalie Anton Khudobin.
He was great in the backup role this year and stated he wants to stay in Boston.
"Well that's the thing. (Bruins general manager Don Sweeney) knows that I love it here," Khudobin said. "I love the city and everybody knows it. How much is it going to be a factor in signing a new contract, I don't know. I don't think it will be a factor. I don't think it matters. It matters what they can offer, and how much I'm willing to take. But for me personally, I would love to stay here."
Do you want to see Khudobin back in a Bruins uniform next year?
