Taylor Hall has been around the league for quite some time, so he knows what he's talking about.

Hall has played 14 seasons for five different franchises since being drafted first overall in 2010. In other words, he's played with a whole lot of different teammates, on countless different line combinations.

So when he was asked earlier today to discuss what he's seeing from his newest winger, rookie Marc McLaughlin, it was interesting to get Hall's take.

"I think he plays with a lot of pace and he's got a really good shot", said Hall. "For him, it's just about getting open and we'll read off him. That's the way it goes when guys are missing out of the lineup."

"I think he's a big strong kid that can shoot it and yesterday, in practice, he was seeing the ice pretty well. So those are all really good things and he's only going to get better and better."

Hall went on to add that he and second line centerman Erik Haula will assist the rookie as best they can, but being pass-first guys they want to see McLaughlin firing shots on net.

After all, that's what you'd expect from the kid that gets to fill in for David Pastrnak.
