Fans around the NHL are outraged after some Maple Leafs fans disrespected both Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau during a 13-second moment of silence.
Both Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau were taken far too soon by a drunk driver, and there are no words to describe the tragedy, but it was and still is heartbreaking. Since the passing, the league has taken every chance it's gotten to honour both the brothers.
From the start of preseason, most teams have taken the opportunity to show a league-wide memorial video for the Gaudreau brothers, along with a 13-second moment of silence.
The Boston Bruins, New Jersey Devils are teams that have taken the time to do this.
During the Toronto Maple Leafs first game against the Ottawa Senator at the Scotiabank Arena, the Leafs played the memorial video and held a 13-second moment of silence for the brothers, but during the moment of silence multiple Maple Leafs fans could be heard shouting "Go Leafs".
This is not the time or place to do it. Cheering for your team is expected, but to do so during a moment of silence is just disrespectful.

The Toronto Maple Leafs would go on to lose this game 6-5 in overtime to the Ottawa Senators after dressing basically a full NHL roster against mostly AHL and young prospects.
