Unrestricted free agent Evan Rodrigues was highly sought after this offseason, as he's been linked to upwards of seven teams this summer.
This morning, the UFA officially chose his next destination. NHL insider Frank Seravalli broke the news:
''Evan Rodrigues signs with #Avs: 1 year x $2 million. He had 19 goals and 43 points last year, hoping for a launch pad year with the defending Champs.''
Rodrigues, 29, set career highs in goals (19), assists (24) and points (43) this past season, playing in 82 games for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Undrafted, Rodrigues signed with the Buffalo Sabres as a free agent out of NCAA on April 22, 2015. The forward has recorded 53 goals and 76 assists in 316 career NHL games with Buffalo and Pittsburgh.
