Last season, we saw something that is a rarity in hockey and is undoubtedly a disgraceful act within the sport when Los Angeles Kings forward Brendan Lemieux bit the hand of Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk during a scrum.

Naturally, Tkachuk was angry about being bitten and could be seen frantically yelling and letting the officials know that Lemieux had bitten him in the exchange.

On Wednesday, during an appearance on the Dropping the Gloves Podcast with John Scott, Lemieux told his side of the story and somehow tried to justify his biting incident:

''I wasn't surprised [he eye gauged me]. Have you seen him play hockey?''

Not a great look for Lemieux here, as Tkachuk had as many goals last season (30) that Lemieux has had in his entire seven-year career (31). He also seems arrogant during the whole interview, as he barely pays attention when John Scott is talking.

There are three sides to every story in an altercation like this; there's Lemieux's side, there's Tkachuk's side, and then there's the reality of it, which I'm sure is somewhere in the middle.

Nevertheless, Lemieux seems very bothered by the incident still, and there is certainly no love lost between Lemieux and the Tkachuk Brothers, which should make for an exciting 2022-23 season.

Thankfully for both sides (but not fans), their interactions with Lemieux will be limited, with both Tkachuks playing in the Eastern Conference now.
