David Krejci played 15 seasons for the Boston Bruins and was a massive part of the Bruins' Stanley Cup win in 2011. He also led the NHL in points during the 2011 and 2013 Stanley Cup playoffs.

He recorded 215 goals and 515 assists for a total of 730 points in 962 games with the Bruins, including 42 goals and 82 assists in 156 career playoff games.

On July 30, 2021, Krejč announced that he was leaving the Bruins and NHL to return to the Czech Republic to continue his career. Krejč returned to his home country to play for the same team, which was his first as a junior and agreed to a one-year contract with HC Olomouc of the ELH on August 2nd, 2021. Bruins' general manager Don Sweeney has openly stated that the two sides have "left the door open" for a case in which Krejci would want to return to Boston.

David Krejci was named an assistant captain of Team Czechia for the 2022 IIHF World Championships currently taking place in Finland, and the host cities are Tampere and Helsinki. Czechia won their first game of the tournament over Great Britain 5-1 and lost this afternoon the Sweden 5-3.

Krejci has 1 goal, 2 assists and is plus 4 so far through two games. Including this beautiful one-timer goal against Team Sweden earlier today:

The savvy veteran even showed he's still got the spirit to get a little rough with opposing players. This time with Buffalo Sabres star defenseman Rasmus Dahlin of Sweden:

This is the kind of stuff we needed with the Boston Bruins in the Stanley Cup playoffs against the Carolina Hurricanes. Will we see David Krejci back in the black and yellow next season?
