The Boston Bruins have gone with a 1A and 1B goaltending tandem in the 2021-22 season with Linus Ullmark and Jeremy Swayman. Splitting games relatively evenly: Ullmark has 36 starts, and Swayman has 34.

Both goalies have gone through hot and cold streaks, respectively, with head coach Bruce Cassidy usually riding the hot hand.

Most recently, Ullmark has been on fire until his injury on Thursday night against the Ottawa Senators. Ullmark took a slap shot to the face mask from Erik Brannstrom and was forced to leave the game after the first period, even though he finished the period stopping all eight shots he faced.

Jeremy Swayman commented on Ullmark's injury:

"Obviously, I hope he has a speedy recovery. I know he will ... not that you prepare to get hit between the eyes, but it's one of those weird ones that happens, and hopefully, he can recover quickly from it and shake it off."

Swayman and Ullmark obviously have a strong bond (as seen by their hugs after every win), and the friendly competition has helped the Bruins have two solid goalies they trust.
