Wednesday night, the Anaheim Ducks hosted the Arizona Coyotes in a preseason game, and it was a bad night for rising star Trevor Zegras.
Midway through the second period, Zegras picked up a loose puck and started to head up the ice, but Jan Jenik of the Coyotes came across the ice and caught the young phenom with a massive open-ice hit.
Check it out below:
Nothing dirty with the hit either, as it doesn't appear to be a target to the head, but more of an unsuspecting Zegras.
Adam Henrique was given the extra instigator penalty and a 10-minute misconduct. The game continued to get chippy as Jenik was challenged to fight again at the end of the second period.
The Ducks have given no further update beside the one above.
