Before Matt Duchene was traded to Ottawa, we heard for awhile that the Boston bruins were in on Duchene however would not give up Brandon Carlo to get him.
That was probably a good thing as Duchene has struggled on the bottom feeding Ottawa Senators.
The Bruins are near the top of the league and are set to make a serious playoff push, so the team might revisit the idea of trading Carlo.
Clearly Charlie McAvoy is untouchable so the Bruins will have to sacrifice something to pick up some strong help at the deadline.
With the Lightning possibly ready to sacrifice Mikhail Sergachev to land Ryan McDonagh, the Bruins will have to step up their offer.
Fluto Shinzawa of the Boston Globe points out that Carlo is the Bruins best chance to do something big at the trade deadline.
