It seems like every night of the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs, there's a goalie interference challenge that is somewhat controversial.

There was one in the Boston Bruins and Carolina Hurricanes one during their matinee and then again in the nightcap game between the Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings.

Watch the play here and judge for yourself:

Kings' forward Carl Grundstrom made a hard drive to the net and was tripped up by Oilers' defenseman Darnell Nurse. As he slid headfirst into the net and Mike Smith's pad, the puck followed into the net. The referee called it a good goal on the ice and after review. Edmonton head coach Jay Woodcroft challenged for goalie interference, but in a very quick review, the call was upheld.

This one was a little different as Nurse did trip Grundstrom, but he also went towards the net himself, and then it almost appeared that his glove could have put the puck in as well. I think the ref's made the right call as Nurse did trip the Kings' forward. The Bruins goal that stood tied the game at 2-2, so it was a crucial call, but the Kings one made it a 3-0 game late in the third that would finish 4-0, so it wasn't really a game-changing moment.

The moral of the story is that goalie interference reviews have been way too inconsistent since they were introduced to the NHL.
