Zdeno Chara was captain for the Bruins for all 14 seasons he spent in Boston.
And he was the focal point of the much-needed culture change in the Bruins locker room, that we still see today. He recently appeared on a recent episode of Spittin' Chiclets and shared how he got the guys going when needed.
''I tried to put a lot of emphasis on getting rid of the complaining and making excuses.''
However, Chara went on to discuss how he didn't do it himself, either, as he had a strong leadership group alongside. Most notably, current captain Patrice Bergeron.
''Patrice is just an unbelievable leader, unbelievable human being, person, outgoing. It was great to have him because he was what I wasn't.''
