David Pastrnak has not been dominate for the Boston Bruins at all this year, that was until last night. The Boston Bruins had something to prove heading into their game against the Vancouver Canucks and they did just that.
After losing back-to-back games against the Winnipeg Jets, and Seattle Kraken, and getting outscored by a score of 13-2, the Bruins needed a dominate performance of their own and they got just that.
David Pastrnak has been subpar for the Boston Bruins this year, but last night we saw vintage Pastrnak as he completely took over the whole game.
Pastrnak would finish the game with one goal, three assists for four points, in 19:11 of ice time which would earn him the first star of the game.
Pastrnak's third assist of the game on Pavel Zacha's goal in the second period marked his 400th career assist, and the Boston Bruins honoured him by making a post about it on social media.
Take a look:
The Bruins, and fans are hopeful that after that performance, David Pastrnak plays like this more often, as they are going to need him if they want to go on any sort of playoff run this year.
The Boston Bruins still sit third in the Atlantic Division, but are just one point ahead of the Tampa Bay Lightning, while the Lightning have four games in hand.
The Bruins are going to have to have a stretch of games where they are winning consistently if they want to keep their position or move up in the standings.
