Late in November the Detroit Red Wings agreed to a one-year contract with Patrick Kane following hip resurfacing surgery that he underwent in the off-season, and there was a lot of doubts heading into the season that Kane wouldn't be the same player.
Kane shut the haters up quick by almost being a point-per-game player for the Detroit Red Wings even after undergoing a major surgery like he did. Now there is a lot of speculation wondering if Kane will return with the Wings next year or not.
Kane and the Red Wings seem to both be interested in working out a new deal, especially considering one of his closets friends is on the team in Alex DeBrincat.
Apparently Patrick Kane's agent Pat Brisson will meet with Steve Yzerman sometime this week to see if they can work out a deal. BetMichigan has released the odds on where Kane might land in the off-season and the Red Wings lead the way with +115 odds which is a 46.5% chance.
The Boston Bruins are in second but a wide margin behind them as they have +800 odds or a 11.1% chance to land Patrick Kane in the offseason.
This would be a benefitical pickup for the Bruins although it doesn't fit with what Cam Neely said during the end of year press conference that the team wants to get faster, but they also said they want to bring in some secondary scoring, and Patrick Kane can do just that as he had 47 points in 50 games this season with 20 of them being goals.
Kane might not be the same player he was a couple years ago, but he could provide the secondary scoring and is one of the best playmakers in the league. He would also bring a ton of experience to the Bruins roster.
