Rumour surfaces the other day that the Boston Bruins were set to reunite with fan favourite forward after being placed on waivers Thursday.
Earlier in the week on Monday the Colorado Avalanche placed former Boston Bruins forward Chris Wagner on waivers.
Elliotte Friedman was the one to initially break the news.
Take a look:
NHL's most trusted insider Elliotte Friedman officially revealed Wagner's fate with the Boston Bruins.
Friedman revealed that Wagner did in fact clear waivers with the Colorado Avalanche, and the Bruins did not claim him.
Chris Wagner, 33-years-old has just one goal in 12 games this season with the Colorado Avalanche, and has been bounced around between the AHL and NHL this season.
In total between the last year and this year Wagner has only played a total of 13 games with the Colorado Avalanche, playing most of the year in the American Hockey League.
From 2018 up until last year Wagner was apart of the Boston Bruins organization, and the Bruins have been rumoured to potentially be reuniting with him.
A lot of Boston Bruins fans have been vocal on social media about wanting Don Sweeney to bring back the fan favourite to the organization.
Towards the end of his time with the Boston Bruins, Wagner ended up spending a lot of time in the American Hockey League with the Providence Bruins, but Sweeney has been vocal that he wants to make some changes to his roster, and this is one right up his ally.
Do you think the Boston Bruins should bring Chris Wagner back to the organization?
