As Jeremy Swayman remains unsigned, the Boston Bruins and their starting goalie remain apart on money. Could this leave the starting goalie job open for the taking?

Bussi was one of the Bruins players the team made a priority to sign prior to free agency. Bussi went undrafted and played goalie for Western Michigan University. The 26-year-old prospect has played 2-years in the AHL for the Providence Bruins and has continued to impress the front office.

In his first season with Providence, he was a stellar first pro season in 2022-23 with a 22-5-4 record and a .924 SV% which ranked in the Top 5 in the AHL. Last season, he had another good season going 23-10-5 with a .914 SV%. He played in four AHL playoff games with a .922 SV%

Could his excellent play in the AHL, give the Bruins a reason to give him a shot at the top job in the NHL? Considering Swayman isn't signed yet, who knows at this point?

We have seen prospects take the brass ring before, but out of training camp? We'll see.
