Boston Bruins president Cam Neely confirms if Jeremy Swayman's willing be re-signing with the team
On the "Rich Shertenlieb show" Boston Bruins President Cam Neely went onto reassure fans that Jeremy Swayman will sign with the team.
As training camp approaches on September 18th, Swayman remains the major question mark, as the RFA remains unsigned.
Today Neel went on the Shertenlieb show to tell us all there's "no question" that Swayman will sign with the Bruins
«Something will get done. There's no question,» Neely said during his appearance on «The Rich Shertenlieb Show» on Thursday morning. «Not every negotiation is as smooth as you'd like it. I know our fan base would certainly love to have something done by now. But I'm fully confident that both sides will come to an agreement before too long here.»
Both Swayman and Neely have confirmed to us all that the deal will get done. However, it's not always so black and white, as contract negotiations include a lot of details to cover in order to meet both parties demands.
Neely would also speak highly of Swayman:
«Jeremy, he's a guy that's so focused and so determined,» Neely said. «He's got a lot of confidence in himself. ... So we figured that we would ride with Jeremy. Linus did so much for the organization both on and off the ice. He's a great person. But we felt we weren't probably going to re-sign him (after 2024-25). So it was best to move him.»
For Boston Bruins fans, this has been an offseason of anxiety and teeth gnashing, as it seemed to be uncertainty, after uncertainty. But with Neely reassuring us all, hopefully, it's a sign something should be done soon.
