The Boston Bruins shocked the NHL when they announced the re-signing of Jeremy Swayman just two days prior to the regular season beginning.
Swayman signed a massive contract in the off-season and his teammates took notice of it, becoming one of the NHL's highest-paid goalies after signing a 8-year, $66 million contract ($8.25 AAV).
After signing this massive deal, this gave Brad Marchand the rights to tease Swayman, and he did exactly that when TNT's Paul Bissonnette asked Marchand if Swayman was kicked out of the team's group chat while he was in contract negotiation's with the Boston Bruins prior to their game against the Colorado Avalanche.
Marchand's chirps didn't stop there as he also made fun of Jeremy Swayman's guitar-playing capabilities which was featured on the new Amazon Prime docuseries "Faceoff: Inside the NHL."
Jeremy Swayman is only 25-years-old and unless a career ending injury takes place, he has a long way to get before thinking about retirement. Jeremy Swayman has not been the greatest for the Boston Bruins after starting out the year with a 2-1-0 record and a 2.98 goals-against average, along with a .893 save percentage.
Jeremy Swayman will more then likely be back in the crease for the Boston Bruins Saturday when they take on the Utah Hockey Club, which will mark their first meeting with the new team. Joonas Korpisalo played for the Bruins against the Avalanche on Wednesday.
