Yesterday when speaking to reporters before the Bruins-Canadiens game, head coach Joe Sacco gave a troubling update on Hampus Lindholm's status as he has been out with a lower-body injury.
The Bruins-Canadiens game yesterday marked the ninth consecutive game in a row that Hampus Lindholm has missed since being out with a lower-body injury as he still sits on Injury Reserved for the Boston Bruins.
Joe Sacco told reporters that Hampus Lindholm is still weeks away from returning.
The Bruins were really struggling when Hampus Lindholm went down with his injury, and have since been playing a lot better, but at the time Lindholm was the Bruins best player and they will definitely benefit from getting him back once he is ready to return.
The Boston Bruins have gone 4-4-1 since losing Lindholm, and there is no doubt that if he was in the lineup, they could possibly have a better record in their previous nine games.
One big thing that has changed since being under Joe Sacco is the fact that the Bruins defensive play has been much better, and they have been playing in a lot more close games.
Lindholm got injured by blocking a shot against the St. Louis Blues where he would end up fracturing his knee and was expected to miss 6 weeks.
So far this season Lindholm has appeared in 17 games for the Bruins, and has three goals, 4 assists for 7 points with a minus-4 rating.
