Lysell was up for his first NHL game last night against the Columbus Blue Jackets and didn't tally any points, but had a +1 in the 11 minutes he saw on the ice. For his first game, he had a good showing.
Lysell is only 21 and will have his chance again soon enough as he is touted as one of the Bruins best prospects. Lysell was a first round pick back in the 2021 draft.
Fabian in his draft year had 62 points in 53 games with the Vancouver Giants of the WHL and had good performances at multiple tournaments with Sweden. However, at the last World Juniors tournament, he tallied zero points through seven games with Sweden.
Although he had a poor performance with Sweden, he would go on to have a good season with Providence, as he had 37 points in 54 games. The season after he posted a whopping 50 points in 56 games.
Coming into this season, Boston decided to keep him down there to continue his development. Lysell currently has five goals and 12 assists, adding up to 17 points in 26 games with the Providence Bruins.
Lysell has a contract with Boston until 2026, so there's currently no rush to get him going in the NHL. They're just letting him continue to grow and that's what they should be doing because they're on a playoff push and right now there's not a guaranteed spot for him.
Fabian has a bright career ahead of him and Bruins fans should be very excited to see more of him, most likely happening next year, because there's not much more he can do down in the AHL.
