Boston Bruins head coach Joe Sacco spoke on Hampus Lindholm's injury before their game with the Columbus Blue Jackets and it's not good.

For the first time in awhile, the Bruins have finally given an update on defenseman Hampus Lindholm's injury, and it's not good news at all.

The Boston Bruins have been without Hampus Lindholm for awhile now after suffering a fractured knee in a game against the St. Louis Blues back in November, and was given a six week timeline to return to the Boston Bruins lineup, but it's looking like it will be a lot longer.

Yesterday during their game against the Columbus Blue Jackets, Joe Sacco apparently told the broadcast group that Hampus Lindholm is still a long ways away from returning from the Bruins lineup.

Take a look:

So, according to the CBJ broadcast, Joe Sacco told them Hampus Lindholm is a long ways away.

The Boston Bruins have been playing fairly well without Hampus Lindholm, and found some surprises in players like Jordan Oesterle who has been playing top 4 minutes for the Bruins since Lindholm's injury.

For sure the Bruins would rather have someone line Lindholm in their lineup, but for right now with him being out, the Bruins have been finding a way to get it done, and if it's not broke then don't fix it.

The Bruins bounced back in a big way after being dominated by the Blue Jackets in their first meeting and beat them 4-0 after being beaten 6-2 just a day before.

Now the Bruins are off for the next five days, and don't play until January 2nd when they face the New York Rangers.
