The Bruins did not have to give anything up for him though due to the New York Islanders placing him on waivers, and Don Sweeney claiming him.
As the Boston Bruins prepare to take on the Calgary Flames after coming off of their most dominate win against the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday, Joe Sacco spoke on Wahlstrom joining the team.
What Sacco had to say:
«He rotated in with two lines today,» Sacco said, per team-provided audio. «We have not made any decisions yet as far as who's playing or who's not (Tuesday against the Flames). It was an opportunity for us to see him in a full skate with the team, which was good.»
Monday the Boston Bruins held a practice which would mark the first time Wahlstrom joined the team, and he was rotating in with two lines, but Sacco would not disclose whether or not Wahlstrom was going to make his debut Tuesday or not.
According to Jim McBride, Oliver Wahlstrom was rotating in on the third line quite a bit, here were the Bruins lines from practice Monday morning:
Whether or not Wahlstrom makes his debut tonight against the Calgary Flames or not, the Bruins are looking to have another game like they did against the Canucks on Saturday.
