Over the past couple of games Jeremy Swayman has been seeming to find traction in his game after really struggling for the Boston Bruins to begin the season, and Joe Sacco made an interesting choice when choosing his goaltender to start tonight.
According to Bruins insider Jim McBride the Boston Bruins are going to be starting Joonas Korpisalo tonight against the Detroit Red Wings, and it seems like Jeremy Swayman will get the start against the Chicago Blackhawks tomorrow.
Joonas Korpisalo has definitely been the better of the two goaltenders this year, but with Jeremy Swayman finally starting to find a groove in his game you think he would get the more challenging start against the Detroit Red Wings but it seems Joe Sacco doesn't feel that way and is rewarding Joonas Korpisalo.
Jeremy Swayman's numbers have getting better and he is now up to a 7-9-2 record with a 3.09 goals against average and a .892 save percentage.
Joonas Korpisalo on the other hand has been really good for the Boston Bruins and has a 5-2-1 record with a 2.45 goals against average and a .907 save percentage.
Joonas Korpisalo will face off against Ville Husso tonight, and the Chicago Blackhawks will be without Patrick Kane as well as he was placed on Injury Reserved today.
