The Los Angeles Kings, San Jose Sharks and Chicago Blackhawks have made moves today placing three players in total on waivers.
The Kings placed defenseman Caleb Jones on waivers, the Chicago Blackhawks and San Jose Sharks have placed forwards Givani Smith and Joey Anderson on waivers making them available for all 32 teams to claim.
NHL insider Elliotte Friedman was the one to confirm this on X today:
The three players haven't really made an impact for their teams this season and will get a better chance and more ice time down in the American Hockey League if a team doesn't claim them off of waivers.
Caleb Jones who is 27-years-old was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2015 Entry Level Draft with the 117th overall pick. He's appeared in 247 games in his NHL career with the Oilers, Blackhawks, Avalanche, and the Los Angeles Kings. So far this season he has only appeared in five games for the Kings and has not registered a point.
Givani Smith was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings with the 46th overall pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Level Draft has only played six games this season with the Sharks and has only appeared in 161 NHL games in his career for the Red Wings, Florida Panthers, and San Jose Sharks.
Joey Anderson, the 26-year-old Blackhawks forward has appeared in 12 games this season, and has just one point. The youngster was drafted 73rd overall by the Devils in 2016 and has played in 163 career games.
The Bruins have a chance to add some young depth if they wanted too, but these players have not really performed well enough to earn a full-time NHL spot, so chances are the Bruins more than likely will not make a move here.
Tomorrow at 2 p.m. ET is the deadline for teams to make a move and claim one of these players.
