During his take of the Boston Bruins summer, Freidman feels that there was an 8-year contract with $6 million per season that was on the table for Swayman to agree to. He also feels that there could be an offer of four years with a contract hit of 6.2 million per season which he feels is true.
But the big take away from his report was that swaim and is looking for a similar contract to Charlie McAvoy who holds a cap hit of $9.5 million per season over eight years. It's safe to say that the Bruins are clearly not comfortable in giving this kind of contract to Swayman currently.
Much has been made regarding his contract demands as recently he had reached out on an interview stating that he is far clearer on what he feels he's worth and has mentioned how he is a business student from the University of Maine and after doing much research and understanding how the game works on the business side that he is educated himself enough to ask for what he's been asking for.
Some pundits across the NHL have expressed that he is seeking $10 million per season. There has been a broad discussion on whether this number makes sense for the Bruins and that he should be paid this kind of money.
In his Bruins career which has spanned four seasons from 2020 through 2024, he has played 132 games, with a record of 79-33-15 while holding a goal against average of 2.34 and a save percentage of .919 with 12 shutouts.
Bruins fans will wait and see if anything were to change.
