According to reporters including The Athletic's Harman Dayal, Rick Tocchet the head coach of the Vancouver Canucks has revealed that former Boston Bruins defenseman Derek Forbort will be out "long-term" or week-to-week. Another Canucks reporter, Irfaan Gaffar stated that it's possible that Forbort could miss over a month with the Canucks.
Derek Forbort randomly left the Vancouver Canucks team on October 17th, after playing just three games with the Vancouver Canucks.
It's still unsure why he ended up leaving the team, but since then he has recently returned to the Canucks, and played a game for them on November 2nd, marking his fourth game with the organization since joining them in the off-season.
But now it is reported that Derek Forbort has suffered some sort of injury, and is going to miss some more time from the Canucks organization.
In the four games he has appeared with the Vancouver Canucks this season, he has one assist, one hit, and is a minus -2.
Forbort previously spent the last three seasons with the Boston Bruins, were he found himself being the 7th defenseman a lot of the time. During the off-season he decided to follow along a couple other former Boston Bruins players and sign a deal with the Vancouver Canucks.
Seems like since joining them, Forbort can't catch a break, but we hope that soon he gets the chance he deserves to try and help out the Canucks.
