Jim Montgomery has revealed some terrible news regarding Boston Bruins defenseman Andrew Peeke's injury.

Not only did the Boston Bruins lose to the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-0 on Tuesday, but they also lost a defenseman after Andrew Peeke took a controversial hit that would cause him to miss the game.

This play happened early into the first period, as Andrew Peeke was trying to play the puck along the boards, he got blindsided by a hit from Max Pacioretty, and you could instantly tell that Peeke was in some discomfort. He would initally head down to the locker room, and later on the Bruins would announce that he would not be back due to a upper-body injury.

Andrew Peeke (upper-body) will not return to tonight's game.

Heading into the Bruins game today head coach Jim Montgomery has provided a update on Andrew Peeke's situation, and it's not good for the Bruins.

Jim Montgomery following practice stated that Andrew Peeke will be out week-to-week, and also stated that there will be no call ups from Providence as of right now, but we know who will be replacing him.

🎥 Coach Montgomery said Andrew Peeke is considered "week-to-week" after suffering an injury in Toronto on Tuesday night, adding there will not be a call-up from Providence as of now:

The Boston Bruins have had 7 defenseman all season long, with Parker Wotherspoon being the odd one out, but now with Andrew Peeke out week-to-week, this will give him the perfect opportunity to slot into the position, and possibly even take the starting spot away from Peeke.
