Early in the week last week, the Boston Bruins made the decision to move on from head coach Jim Montgomery.
Practice was canceled for the Bruins following their 5-1 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets, and the Bruins later revealed why.
The reasoning for practice being canceled was due to the Bruins firing Jim Montgomery from his coaching position.
The Bruins announced that assistant head coach Joe Sacco would take over for Montgomery as an interim head coach.
But Don Sweeney did state that he is going to give Sacco a good run at the head coaching position before looking for a replacement.
Five days after the Boston Bruins fired Jim Montgomery, he was hired by the St. Louis Blues.
The Blues announced that they fired their previous head coach, and Jim Montgomery would take on the head coaching role for the team.
It was also announced that Jim Montgomery signed a five-year deal with the St. Louis Blues as head coach.
Today Jim Montgomery spoke with the media for the first time since being fired by the Boston Bruins, and he disrespected the organization.
During his first media meeting he was wearing a St. Louis Blues sweater and was asked about it.
When he was asked about it Montgomery went on to say that it was in his closet, and once a Blue always a Blue.
Take a look:
The St. Louis Blues are getting one of the best head coach's in the league, and will definitely be a team to watch going forward with Jim Montgomery.
