Jack Edwards stepped away from announcing the game of hockey, and from the Boston Bruins after the conclusion of the NHL season.

He had to step away due to an undiagnosed speech condition, which make it difficult for him to keep his past cadence. It ended his 19 year career with the Bruins and a broadcaster for 45 years.

The move had to be coming as it had been announced in April of 2024, but one wondered could he ever return?

Could he get his condition in order to return to the booth, continue his status quo job and announcing career? It's doubtful today, as he issued a statement with the hiring of Judd Sirott:

Sirott takes over in the play-by-play booth for the 2024-2025 NHL season and before stepping onto the screen to call Bruins games, he's been calling Bruins games since 2018 on 98.5 The Sports Hub, the radio voice for the Bruins.

Edwards can finally relax, rest and hopefully get help for his condition and improve while he gets to enjoy Bruins games from his couch.

Edwards signing off for good.

Time to enjoy the Swayman-era of the Bruins, from the comfort of your own home.
