The Boston Bruins are gearing up for their first road trip of the season, and their first opponent is the Colorado Avalanche. Jim Montgomery has finally listened to fans and changed up the lines a bit before their game.

The Boston Bruins top-six has not been productive, and Jim Montgomery called them out following their last loss against the Florida Panthers.

This morning it was announced that Boston Bruins head coach is finally making some adjustments by adding Max Jones, and Riley Tufte in tonight, and taking Justin Brazeau and Morgan Geekie out of the lineup.

Max Jones and Riley Tufte will be the third-line wingers tonight with Matt Poitras at center in Denver. Look for Trent Fredric on the second line with Charlie Coyle and Brad Marchand. Morgan Geekie and Justin Brazeau are out. Goalie is a game-time decision. #Bruins

Max Jones during his first game with the Boston Bruins was involved in a controversial moment whenever he ended up slashing a NHL referee. He tried to slash Evan Rodrigues stick away during a scrum, but ended up hitting the ref and receiving a penalty for the play.

Many thought that there were going to be consequences for Jones hitting the ref, but the NHL made a ruling and decided not to punish Max Jones.

Jones, and Tufte are now slotting into the lineup for their second appearance of the season against the Colorado Avalanche. Puck drop is set for 9:30 p.m. Eastern.
