Despite missing the last six games for the Bruins due to a lower-body injury, head coach Jim Montgomery shared a major update on the veteran's availability for game one of the postseason. Conor Ryan of Boston.com shared Montgomery's news:
Krejci, 36, has had a solid campaign after taking a year off to go back home to Czechia for a year. Through 70 games, the centre has collected 16 goals, 40 assists and a +23 rating while averaging 17:12 of time on ice per game.
It will be important for the Bruins to get Krejci back in the lineup for the playoffs, as he's shown up big for Boston many times. More specifically, the last three times Boston made the Stanley Cup Final:
(Rank among Bruins players)
2019: 4 goals and 12 assists in 24 games (6th)
2013: 9 goals and 17 assists in 22 games (1st)
2011: 12 goals and 11 assists in 25 games (1st)
Krejci brings value to his team, on and off the ice, and having him in the lineup for game one could huge for Montgomery's squad. However, his health should and will be number one priority.
