Major Development In The Boston Bruins Trading Fan Favourite Trent Frederic
The Boston Bruins and Trent Frederic haven't worked out a deal to our knowledge yet. The gritty forward has landed on the TSN"s Top 10 Trade List.
The Boston Bruins and Trent Frederic may be on the outs, as the team and the physical forward haven't reached a deal yet.
Frederic's deal is set to expire at the end of 2025 and is making $2.3 Million AAV. He will end the season as an UFA isn't he signed soon, or traded elsewhere as a rental.
Each day passes, it makes sense just to trade him as the team could let him walk if they haven't inked a deal by July 1st, 2025.
But Frederic himself has been a ghost scoring only 13 points ( 6 G, 7 A) in 45 games with the Bruins.
Last season in 2023-2024, we saw him post a career-high 40 points (18 G, 22 A) and could use a fresh start.
So the question is why hasn't GM Don Sweeney started to shop Frederic they're unable to sign him?
There's been word that NHL contenders are interested in Freddy and GM Don Sweeney hasn't made the effort to field calls that we've seen.

if GM Don Sweeney was smart, and a capable GM he'd have already had offers on the table for Frederic.
Or will he continue this opaque theater of keeping us in the dark with the team's UFAs?
Either way, he needs to make a decision.
