One player that stepped up in the absence of the Bruins' top two centres was Charlie Coyle, whose teammates referred to him as a ''monster'' - among other names - after his game three performance.
However, Brad Marchand was a little more complimenting of his newest pivot.
As Boston's top centre on Friday night against the Panthers, Coyle registered a goal, five shots and one hit in 16:53 of ice time. However, what was most impressive was how he shut down Florida's captain Aleksander Barkov, who mustered one assist and three shots in nearly 20 minutes of ice time.
Classic Marchy Sound Bite
This led to several teammates eluding the 6'3'', 223-pound centreman as a ''monster'' and ''animal'' during their postgame interviews. But not Marchand, who was quite nice, while dropping a hilarious quote:
''I thought he was better looking than that.''
