The Boston Bruins made a savvy move in 2019 when they drafted Matias Mäntykivi in the sixth round.
Although the 21-year-old has yet to sign with the Bruins, he's been making waves in the Liiga Champions Hockey League (LCHL) with Tampereen Ilves.
Mäntykivi is a top-5 drafted European player, and it's easy to see why.
Last winter, he had a breakout season with 31 points, and he followed that up with an impressive 33 points in 60 regular season games this year. He also shined in the postseason with 3 goals, 9 assists, and 12 points in just 12 games.
Fans are eagerly anticipating Mäntykivi's arrival in Providence next fall, as it's widely expected that the Bruins will sign him soon.
With his talent and dedication, it's only a matter of time before this young prospect gets his chance to shine in the AHL.
