Today it was reported that Nashville Predators gritty forward Zachary L'Heureux is set to face a suspension after he landed a dangerous slew foot to Minnesota Wilds defenseman Jared Spurgeon.
Last night, the Nashville Predators and Minnesota Wild faced off each ohter, and Zachary L'Heureux was ejected by the officials after he slew fotted Jared Spurgeon.
The video below you can clearly see that L'Heureux clearly took out Spurgeon from behind by slew footing him.
During his professional career, L'Heureux has been suspended multiple times, but this would be his first punishment from the NHL, but the NHL will take into consideration that he has a reputation of being a dirty player.
This reputation L'Heureux has first developed in his junior career when he was playing for the Halifax Mooseheads. During his time playing jnuior hockey he was suspended nine different times, all of them were deemed dangerous incidents.
Not long after he started his professional career the suspensions would follow him as he has been suspended twice in his American Hockey League career in just 70 games.
Now it has been confirmed that L'Heureux will be having a meeting with the NHL Department of Player Safety, and it will be announced tomorrow whether or not he will be suspended for his slew foot.
It was also confirmed that becuase this is his first time facing potential punishment from the league, they will not be taking into consideration his track record from other levels of hockey.
