An unfortunate turn of events has surfaced involving the Boston Bruins acquiring Martin Necas and it was confirmed by an insider.

Martin Necas has been involved in trade rumours ever since the Hurricanes got eliminated from the playoffs, and it seems inevitable that he will be getting traded this off-season.

Just last week David Pagnotta made a statement, stating 5-7 teams were in the mix to acquire him, but now Pagnotta reported that only three teams are still reportedly in the mix.

The Carolina Hurricanes are asking for a 'budding star' in return for Necas, and now it's just to see what team will step up and pay the asking price for him.

According to David Pagnotta the three teams that are interested in him are the Montreal Canadiens, Seattle Kraken, and Nashville Predators, but he did state that other teams could still be in play.

As the Hurricanes carry out trade talks with teams about Martin Necas, the word is Carolina is looking to complete a 'hockey trade' not a deal strictly for future assets. Teams like Nashville, Seattle, Montreal among those still believed to be in the mix.

Necas had a solid year with the Carolina Hurricanes putting up 24 goals, 29 assists for 53 points in 77 games, and will be looking at a decent pay day on his next contract.
