Some bad news surfaced for the Ottawa Senators yesterday as they were getting ready to take on the Los Angeles Kings.
Sunday morning some bad news struck former Boston Bruin, and newly acquired goaltender for the Ottawa Senators, Linus Ullmark, who was missing from practice. Fans assumed that Linus Ullmark was dealing with a injury, but the Senators head coach revealed that Ullmark was just taking a maintenance day.
Either Travis Green was not being honest about Linus Ullmark taking a maintenance day or the Senators did not have enough information on the situation at the time, but a move the Senators made suggested that he is dealing with an injury.
Just before the game the Ottawa Senators made a move that indicated that Ullmark's situation could be worse then they originally thought it was. Moments before the game the Ottawa Senators made a roster move and called up goaltender Mads Sogaard on an emergency basis.
So far this season, Mads Sogaard has appeared in no NHL games, but did make an appearance in the American Hockey League where he made 27 saves in a loss, but had a .964 save percentage.
There still is no update regarding Linus Ullmarks situation after making the emergency call up, but there is speculation that he is either dealing with a injury or an illness that is not allowing him to slot into the roster.
The Ottawa Senators went on to beat the Los Angeles Kings with a wild score of 8-7 which would finish in overtime.

Linus Ullmark may be injured despite claims to the contrary.
