Ever since the 2022-23 season the Chicago Blackhawks have yet to have a captain as Jonathan Toews had some health problems that have not allowed him to lace up the skates since.
Today the Chicago Blackhawks announced that heading into this season they will have another captain, and it will be former Boston Bruins fan favourite Nick Foligno.
Nick foligno will be the Chicago Blackhawks 35th captain in franchise history, and makes you wonder if that means Jonathan Toews will not be coming back to the NHL.
Last off-season the Boston Bruins traded Nick Foligno and Taylor hall to the Chicago Blackhawks as a move to clear some cap space. Now entering his second season with the Blackhawks, Foligno will be wearing the C on his jersey.
This isn't the first time Foligno will wear the C as he did so with the Columbus Blue Jackets for his last six of nine seasons with the team from 2015 to 2021.
